Objectives
General objective: Develop compact rectennas exploiting cavity effects to improve
RF/DC conversion efficiency, in order to offer wireless, battery-free power supply solutions for
autonomous electronic systems.
Specific objectives :
• Model the effects of cavities on rectenna performance
• Characterize constituent materials under environmental stresses (temperature, humidity,
aging)
• Design, manufacture (3D printing) and experimentally validate innovative prototypes
Scientific / technological challenges: Limited understanding of the influence of cavity effects (resonances,
couplings) on rectenna efficiency in real-world environments. Stability and durability of printed materials
under island climatic conditions. Joint optimization of RF matching circuits, DC filtering and
voltage boosting.
